How to prepare your pet for a new baby
So when we found out we were having a baby we read books and consulted a pet shrink to help the cat make a smooth transition. We did not want the cat to be jealous of the baby. I have found some of the same techniques that worked for the cat work for the husband.
1. When feeding the baby in the marital bed, rub the husbands back.
2. When doing a load of laundry for the baby, gather the husbands.
3. When putting away the baby's laundry, put away the husbands.
4. When buying something special at the store, buy something for the husband.
5. When preparing an extra bottle for the baby, make a snack for the husband.
If you follow these steps, you are sure to make the husband happy. But remember the husband does not feel the need to be:
father of the year
spouse of the year
friend of the year
Nor does he feel guilty:
for spending time alone
going out with friends
not changing diapers
not assisting in night time feedings
He will never give up
eating and drinking what he wants
To accommodate your breast feeding diet and post baby weight loss diet.
These of course are observations. Please carry on!

Happy Birthday Uncle Adam!
Date Night
G3 had his first babysitter experience. Gma and Gpa took care of G3 while G2 and I went out. We went to our friends birthday party. I only called home 3 times to check on the baby. It was hard to relax and enjoy myself. I had to remember to bring things to the party. For the first time in my life I brought a breast pump along with the beer , chips, salsa, and a birthday card. Here is a picture of an individual at the party. Can anyone guess what his costume is?

The hip bone is contected to the ...
We went to Children's Hospital for an ultrasound of both hips. During the second trimester the baby was breech. This they assured me was standard procedure. It turns out his hips are fine. Most of the trip was uneventful. I did however have to do a diaper change in their bathroom. They had a changing table which came up to my boobs. How am I suppose to reach and see the baby? They didn't have a step stool. It would be nice if they made changing tables that you could adjust to your height.

Baptism
I know godmothers and godfathers are neither grantors of all our wishes nor organized-crime bosses. We thought long and hard in selecting the godparents for G3. Not only do the godparents we selected support the baby, but they also support the marriage. After all having a good marriage is most important in bringing up G3.
Lincoln Logs
I am trying to prepare the husband for child care duties when I return to work. He is so nervous when the baby cries. He always thinks he is hungry. It is neat to hear him talking to the baby on the monitor. I am going to start leaving him with the baby for short periods of time. Hopefully this helps to build his confidence and helps me to get used to the idea of being away. If I give him the logs, then he can build the cabin.
The Comfort of Home
It is so nice to be home. G3 is making the transition from vacation to home. We need to get back on a schedule. He had a little upset stomach, but it doing better today. I let the little guy co-sleep. I know shock and horror from all the by the book moms. He woke up in my bed with a little confused look and then realized he was home. He had a little smile and went back to sleep. This reminded me of when I was little. Sometimes when we were sick we got to sleep in bed with mom and dad. It was always weird to wake up not in your own bed, but it was comforting to see mom and dad. I wonder if that is what it is like when you die. You wake up somewhere weird, but then are comforted to know you are with God.

Having a baby changes everything
I didn't know what changes to expect in relationships when I had the baby. The baby brings out the good in most people. This vacation has been different know that I am a mom. Friends who I never would have expected to be great with baby have surprised me. G3 brings out the softer side in people. It also makes friendships stronger. The baby has also strengthened the relationship with my parents and my brother.
Having a baby also changes the marriage. More on that subject later. Here is a picture of G3's play date in Michigan.

vacation
Here are some pics from Michigan. The weather is beautiful. G3 is adjusting to the change in environment just fine. Still no sleep. He is even more alert now that he is in a new place. The Baptism went off with out a hitch. His godparents were both present. The card carrying Catholic remembered his card. We had my parents here. They were such a big help.

First Visit to Grandma and Grandpa G's
We had our first visit to the other grandparent's house. G3 slept the whole car ride there and through dinner. He did wake up and spend time with his grandparents. He was very well behaved and spoiled the whole time. Of course we had time to snap a few picks. Grandpa bought him his first winter stocking cap. We had to try it on.

First College Visit
G3 had his first college visit. When we arrived on campus he was able to charm his way through the reception area. He walked right into the counselor's office and demonstrated his interest in college. He was able to flow from counselor to counselor without a problem. The counselors had nothing, but glowing reviews. I only hope in 18 years it goes this smoothly.
