photo shoot Sunday

An evening at the Lacy's

Packing of the cooler, Water, check, beer, check, similac, check!

These people have great toys!

I am a one man band.

The Lacy's invited the family for dinner. We had to pack a cooler and all the baby stuff. It was an event. It was wonderful to relax and enjoy adult conversation. The food was great. The conversation was unforgettable. Sometimes the best advice can not be found in books, but found in friends. Thanks for a wonderful night.

Happy Friday!

Have you ever felt like your burning the candle at both ends and lighting it in the middle? I don't think G3 does.

Relax. Stop and smell the flowers.

Want to use my shades?

The cry room....

Well, I have officially become a C&E church member since the baby arrived. Does everyone know what a C&E church member is? Maybe you are one.... It doesn't matter when or if you go... as long as you have some kind of spiritual grounding...

Preparing for church is like preparing for a marathon. In order to go to church prep work must start two days in advance. I have to get clothes ready for my mother in law, my husband, the baby, and myself. I also have to have assistance in getting everyone bathed and dressed in the morning. All I am saying is that it is a lot of work. The church we attend is the one my mother in law is a member. It is a beautiful Catholic Church. It is not easy to maneuver a wheel chair, a stroller, diaper bag, 2 purses, a mother in law bag and the church door. I seated my mother in law and waited for my husband. He was parking the car. It takes home what seems to be 20 minutes. He arrives and I excuse myself to the cry room. The cry room is up two stairs. I have to lift the stroller and kick open the door. It was standing room only in the cry room.

When I grew up children sat in the pews during church and behaved. At this church children sit in a separate room. They run and jump in the pews. It was mayhem. I couldn't even tell you what the sermon was about. Children of all ages were in the room. I don't see why the tweens were hanging out in the cry room The parents stood around talking during the sermon. I think it was more of a social visiting time.

We made it. Everyone had a dose of religion. I didn't take any pics. I think I was the only one brought to tears in the cry room...

First overnight with the grandparents....

Little G3 had his first night away from home. He spent the night the his grandparents. I had never spent a night away from him before. It was harder on me than on him. The husband and I went out for dinner and then came home and went to bed. We are so old.

Grandma and Grandpa took plenty of pictures to document this occasion. Does he look spoiled or what. He got new clothes, toys, and a new sippy cup. He also helped to bake the Easter Cake.

The separation role from being my mother's daughter and son's mother is a fine line. I trust my mother with my son. However, I did pack the whole nursery to send with him. I wanted his stay to be comfortable and I wanted it to be easy for the grandparents. I just felt like something was completely missing when he was gone. I went into his room and stared at the empty crib. I can not imagine how my life was before I had him. He feels a space in my life that was empty. I have very great memories of the weekends I spent with my grandparents. The evenings going out to restaurants, special snacks, new toys, and late night television. I got to listen to them tell stories of their childhood. Well, I also got to hear stories about my parents. I hope G3 gets to have many moments with his grandparents.

Happy Golf Day!

Oh! I missed the ball. I didn't get in the water.

Maybe if I eat the score card no one will know.
